In Dubai where money is not an issue plans are going ahead to transform that city into one of the most spectacular place in the world.
Its latest concept is Ziggurat, a futuristic giant glass 2.3 square kilometer pyramid with one million residents.

Timelinks, Dubai based designer, said the city would work by ‘harnessing the power of nature’ and Ziggurat communities can be almost totally self-sufficient energy-wise.
It is going to be a green city, self sufficient and carbon neutral with power being supplied by wind turbines and generated steam from solar energy.
There will be no cars inside the building. A monorail network which operates both horizontally and vertically will provide all the transportation within the city.
To access their homes residents will rely on biometric, which makes use of facial recognition.
Public and private landscaping will be used for leisure pursuits or irrigated as agricultural land. Whole cities can be accommodated in complexes which take up less than ten per cent of the original land surface.
The official unveiling of the city is scheduled for the Cityscape Dubai event which runs October 6-9, 2008.
