Well, somebody’s done it!
India’s Tata Motors unveiled the world’s cheapest car, the “Nano” aka “the People’s Car.” I guess Tata is hoping the Nano will quickly catch on to become the equivalent of the Volkswagen, the other “people’s car.”
How cheap? How about US $2,500 for the basic version?
It has 4 doors and can squeeze in 5 adults.
The basic version has no radio, no passenger-side mirror, and only one windshield wiper. Air conditioning? You’d need to upgrade to the Deluxe version.
There’s no mention of whether it will climb a steep grade. Well, the Fiat 500 and Smart Car now have a worthy competition.
