That sound plays a major role in movies is an understatement. Without fabulous sound the experience is simply not the same. That is why home theater is a major success.

However it is not always possible to enjoy surround sound if other people are sleeping near by.

It is possible to watch the movie using a headphone but the immersive effect is not there.

What is the solution?

Use a Surround sound headphone!

Today we are going to recommend a wireless headphone since it allows more flexibility in movement.

The best one reviewed so far is the Sony MDR DS6000.

Sony DS6000

According to onheadphones.com these headphones are a great choice for those who want to be able to listen to music and movies in clean, clear, powerful surround sound.

They have clear, bright sound with great separation and one really feels like one is in the middle of some awesome concert.

The reviewer also finds it very comfortable to wear.

The bad side is that it can interfere with other wireless items, like cordless phone, Wi-Fi, mobile phones and may not be the best for gamers.

It got a rating of 4 out of 5.

Gizmodo.com found it to be the best compared to three other wireless surround sound headphones, namely, the Pioneer SE-DHP800, the Sennheiser RS 130 and the Acoustic Research AWD510.

“We were able to appreciate the crisp, distinct sound design in a way we never had before.”

They were very impressed by the realism effect when they tested it on the movie, Superman Returns.

They also find the headphone very comfortable to wear. They turn on automatically when placed on the head.

Amazon.com gave the Sony MDR-DS6000 a rating of 4 out of 5.

The Pioneer SE-DIR800C and the Tritton True 5.1 Digital Audio Headset with AX360 Audio Xtreme 360 also garnered 4 out of 5 in the ratings.

If you play a lot of games the Tritton AX360 might appeal to you since it is designed specifically for the ultimate gamer with its Rumble Headset Technology.

The Pioneer SE-DIR800C Infrared Wireless Surround Sound Headphones simulate 5.1 channel speakers to create surround-sound like what you’ll experience from a home theater.

It does not interfere with other wireless components and receptivity is apparently quite good even if there is something in between the transmission and the reception.

Although we recommend the Sony MDR DS6000 we would ask you to try the headphones before making the purchase since hearing can be a subjective matter finally.
