Consumer Reports tested over 40 gas grills and the top 2 gas grills were from Weber.
The Weber Genesis E320 got the highest rating (86/100) followed closely by Weber Genesis EP320 (85/100).
The EP-320 is an upgrade from the E-320. It has heavy duty stainless steel grates, and stainless steel flavorizer bars whereas the E-320 has porcelain enamel grates and flavorizer bars.
Both grills have excellent even heating. They are easy to use, easy to clean and the three burners produce enough heat so that the grill time is relatively short.
Char Broil Red Grill – 463250509
The Char Broil grill has a rating of 81/100 and is an excellent medium-size grill that provides excellent heating evenness of the main cooking area with very good low-temperature grilling.
Consumersearch considered the Brinkmann Grill – 810-8410S to be the Best Budget gas grill.
The Brinkmann gas grill has four stainless-steel burners; porcelain-coated, cast-iron cooking grates; a 48,000-Btu output and electronic ignition.
It also has a warming rack, a side burner, a bottle opener, a beverage holder and a utensil rack.
The Brinkmann grill has a lot of positive review from consumers but also complaints about its durability, poor construction and rusting.
Kenmore 16641 Grill
This Kenmore grill got a rating of 76/100 and is a Best Buy of Consumer Reports.
It has four main burners, a side burner, cast-iron grates, and an output of 60,000 Btu/hr.
There are however some concern about the thinness of its metal, the rusting and the flakiness of its interior coating.
Brinkmann 810-1575-W
This large Brinkman grill is also Consumer Reports Best Buy and scored a rating of 73/100.
It has five burners, an infrared rotisserie and side burner, coated cast iron grates, and a total output of 82,000 Btu/hr.
The burner has a life warranty.
Best value gas grill
The Blue Ember FGF50069-U403 scored 77/100 and tops the first place for large gas grill.
It has four stainless-steel burners, adjustable porcelain-coated cast iron grates, 675 square inches of cooking area, a side burner and an optional rotisserie.
However it is made of lower-grade stainless steel and is a discontinued model.
Best Portable Gas Grills
Char Broil Red Patio 463250210
Its score is 78/100, the highest for a portable grill. It is a Best Buy.
The Char Broil provides good heating evenness of the main cooking area and excellent low-temperature grilling.
The Weber Q200 scored 65/100 due to its spartan features.
It is easy to use and easy to clean up. Although it has only one burner it provides uniform grilling.
Recommendation
If you have a Weber grill you will get excellent uniform grilling and if image is important to you, the Weber grill will provide that too.

Weber is the best. I have been using it for years and so far I have nothing negative to say about it.
I have a Weber Q220 and it is a complete piece of junk. I hate it so much, I’d rather scoop dog poop than cook with it.
I have a Weber Summit S-670 and man it’s the best grill I have ever purchased. I had a Charbroil before and while it lasted a while (with continuous cleaning) it doesn’t even compare to the quality of this grill.
