Sony’s new Vaio computers might pose a real challenge to iMac computers with their stylish and innovative design.
The Sony VGC-LA38G is an entertainment and communication centre which can be carried around anywhere whether at work or at home.
It is a cross breed between a desktop and a laptop and tries to offer the best of both worlds.

It features a 15.4″ wide clear bright LCD screen with a transparent polycarbonate frame which makes it appear to float on the air; a folding keyboard and stand; a built-in Motion Eye camera; and an obstrusively stylish carrying handle.

When folded and not in use, the Sony VGC-LA38G can still function as a counter-top clock calendar and music center with its SoundFLOW graphical interface.

Using Sound Reality audio chip and stereo speakers, the new Sony Vaio seeks to achieve high performance audio sound.
Similar to iMac, the DVD drive slot is located on the side of the screen. Not only is it a DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW drive which supports both DVD+/-R Dual Layer discs, it is also a DVD-RAM drive.
Performancewise, the Sony VAIO VGC-LA38G features the latest Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T5600 (1.83 GHz) and the Intel® 945PM Express Chipset, and is equipped with the powerful NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7400 GT.
It has 1GB DDR2 SDRAM and 120 GB hard drive.
The Sony VAIO VGC-LA38G is about 47 (W) x 29 (D) x 14 (H) cm when folded and weighs 4.5 kg with battery.

The Sony Vaio VGC-LS25E is similar in design to the VGC-LA38G but has a 19″ screen and a TV tuner.
The new Vaio L series will sure impress people and create the “wow” effect with its elegant and sleek appearance.
