Sony and Samsung are ahead of schedule in their joint venture to produce large-size LCD TVs. Originally planned for an Autumn production run, the schedule has now moved to this Summer.
The joint venture, S-LCD Corp., will provide Sony with a stable supply of LCD panels while allowing Samsung to leverage Sony’s brand recognition, not that Samsung needs much help with its own brand these days.
The new LCD TVs will be based on the advanced “eight generation technology” and the new schedule will mean that they will be ready for this Christmas shopping.
