Panasonic Strada F-Class ranks as a high-end GPS navigation product that emphasizes design, image quality and a host of features and functions like DVD and MP3 playback and a digital TV tuner.

It is the world’s first car navigation system that includes the function of linking cars with homes.

The new navigation device creates a wireless connection between domestic appliances in the home and cars.

Switching off the lights in the house, locking doors, monitoring what is going inside and outside the house, programming the DVD timer, turning on the heating, checking on the baby sitter and the pets, all these can be done from the comfort of the car now.

An “on the way home” message can be sent from the car to family members at home, who can also track the location of the vehicle and estimate its arrival time.

Drivers need only to touch an icon on a seven-inch flat screen installed in their car in order to activate a variety of pre-programmed commands in their home.

A remote control also enables drivers to use the commands from immediately outside the vehicle.

The Strada, F-Class aims to transform the car into a “second living room”, according to Panasonic.

The homes must however be wired up to a specific internet link with a specific server in order to create the connection between the home and the car’ s navigation system, which is based on Bluetooth technology.

Hopefully the accident rate will not increase substantially.
