The Oxyride battery has been out for some time now but is not yet as popular as alkaline batteries.
What’s interesting is that though the price is about the same ($1 each), the Oxyride battery delivers more than twice the performance of an alkaline battery.
It is also shaped like a regular AA battery, so wherever AA batteries are used, Oxyride batteries can be substituted.
Oxyride batteries are therefore excellent in digital cameras, mp3 music players, portable video players, and games consoles which are all heavy power drainers.
Consider that lithium batteries last five times longer than alkaline batteries but are three times more expensive.
The Panasonic Oxyride batteries are definitely an interesting alternative to the more costly lithium batteries.
