Panasonic will launch its Blu-ray Disc Player, DMP-BD10, on September 2006, and plans to sell about 5 millions units for under US $1,500 a unit in the first year. Simultaneously, it will introduce its new 1080p 103-inch Flat Screen Plasma TV for about US $10,000.
The Panasonic Blu-ray player will have full HD 1080 progressive output capability and will be equipped with HDAVI Control, which simplifies connectivity to other video and audio devices. Panasonic will also introduce 25 GB and 50 GB dual layer rewriteable Blu-ray disc.
