THE WORLD’S SMALLEST DIGITAL SLR, THE OLYMPUS E-420, will be released in May this year.

Olympus E-420

It measures 12.9 cm (5.1 inches) by 9.1 cm (3.6 inches) by 5.3 cm (2.1 inches) and weighs only 380 g.

It features a 2.7-inch HyperCrystal II LCD monitor with a viewing angle of 176 degrees in all directions. Using anti-reflection multi-coating and color temperature adjustment the color reproduction and viewing contrast are improved.

The 10 megapixel camera has an improved TruePic III image processing engine and Live View Technology. The Live View Technology allows autofocusing based on contrast detection and has the ability to detect up to eight different faces at once using the Face Detect and Shadow Adjust Technology.

The Olympus E-420 also features the Super-Sonic Wave Filter which vibrates at supersonic speeds whenever the camera is on and thereby expelling dust and preventing it from collecting on the low-pass filter or image sensor.

The camera supports 3.5 frames-per-second sequential shooting, and has a built-in flash with wireless flash control.
