Navigon’s latest GPS, the 8110, won the EISA (European Imaging and Sound System) award for best navigation system for 2008/2009.
The Navigon 8110 contains a 533 MHz processor with 512 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM as well as a graphics accelerator.
The Navigon 8110 displays panorama 3D-landscapes and realistic highway junctions and exits on its 4.8 inch wide LCD touch screen. This means that mountains and valleys are displayed as they appear in real life, and bridges and tunnels are displayed on the road layout.
It offers text-to-speech with mention of the street names and in addition its voice recognition system allows drivers to enter destinations by speaking the name of a city, street and house number. That means the driver can concentrate on the road while driving.
It has a Lane Assistant Pro feature which guides the driver on the right lane at the right time.
Free TMC reception and radar information are available in many European countries without additional cost.
Among other things it features the latest-generation Bluetooth® hands-free kit with integrated microphone, a MP3 player, a picture viewer and a FM radio transmitter, which enables the driver to listen to the verbal instructions through the vehicle loudspeakers.
The integrated USB port can be used to copy address information from MS Outlook straight into the navigator’s list of favourites.
During the first 2 years after purchase the device can be kept up to date with latest maps free of charge by the new service NAVIGON FreshMaps. An update will be provided every three months.
