It appears that MacBook Air will soon have a challenger in Lenovo Thinkpad X300, which will be slightly thicker, 0.92 in instead of 0.76 in but weighs 1.13 kg instead of 1.36 kg.
Contrary to MacBook Air it will have an ultrathin DVD burner. This will definitely play in its favor since most people want to burn CDs and DVDs.
The Lenovo X300 will have three USB 2.0 ports, three internal PCI-Express slots, Firewire, 4-in-1 SD card reader, a DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet and an ExpressCard slot. It has the following wireless connectivity: Bluetooth, 802.11n, EV-DO Rev A, HSDPA and WiMAX
It has a 13.3″ backlit LED widescreen WXGA+ (1440 x 900 pixels) with a built-in web camera.
It is powered by an Intel Santa Rosa 2.0GHz LV processor. The RAM can be expanded up to 4 GB. It uses a 64 GB solid state drive. It is not clear if there will be an option for a hard disk.
The price of Lenovo X300 is unknown but considering that it will be using SSD it will probably be relatively high.
Will it be good-looking as the MacBook Air?
