CAR THIEF IS BIG BUSINESS. If we are not careful we can easily become part of the statistics.
How can we prevent that to happen?
Never leave your keys in the ignition. (Or is it just in the movies that we see those things happen?)
The fact is that one in five cars is stolen this way. Leaving your key in the car is like putting a sticker on the windshield, saying, “Feel free to steal me”.
Never leave your unattended car running. That includes the driveway, garage or on the street in front of your home. On a cold winter morning, you may be tempted to leave your car to warm up before heading to work. That’s enough time for someone to disappear with your car.
Always lock doors and windows, even in the garage overnight.”
Protect your keys — even at home. Do not exhibit it like a trophy. Thieves will even break into your home to steal your keys.
Don’t leave valuables in your car. This attracts thieves like a magnet.
Get an electronic immobilizer if you don’t have one. It makes your car more difficult to steal.
