Refurbished items can be good and bad, almost 50:50. The manufacturer has apparently fixed the problem. But there is no guarantee that it has been done. They might simply repackage it. So there is a risk factor.
If you are interested in a refurbished product you need to ensure that you could return it in case it does not work properly. There should be no restocking fee. If it is an online order you will probably lose on return postage.
Deals do exist! We simply need to be critical in evaluating it.
