Women do not like underarm hair. They will go at great length to remove them. A new deodorant is coming on the market which has the property of slowing hair growth.
That sounds interesting, isn’t it? Does it mean, after continual use the hair might stop growing?
The Sure and Dove Hair Minimising roll-ons and sprays from Unilever will slow down the speed of hair growth.
They will not replace waxing or shaving but they will reduce the skin irritation caused by hair regrowing afterwards. Women will notice a difference after around four weeks of use. Their underarm hair should be less noticeable, finer and easier to remove.
Hair growth will however quickly return to normal if the deodorant is not used anymore.
The anti-hair deodorant is based on a ‘pro-epil’ complex-which is said to slow the rate of hair growth.
Some people will have safety concerns about chemicals strong enough to slow hair growth. Mr Murray Bisschop of Unilever believe Unilever will not launch anything that is potentially risky.
The deodorants should be used only in the underarm area.
Unilever expects up to a third of its customers to switch to the new varieties. This would generate $15 million in sales in the first year alone.
